Custom Gutted rears

anybody have pics of custom rearend applications?

like taking out the seats and using some sort of flat panel or something?

I think most people just gut and leave it out for weight purposes.. Whats the point of removing seats for less weight then adding panels?

We did that on our shop car, completely gutted and just made the door panels and such look pretty by pop rivetting in some flimsy sheet metal
