Can anybody give a reccomendation for cams for the SOHC d16a6 for boost applications?

Crane Cams or Bill Gude's Bullfrog cam.... although I believe (trinity would know) that The Bullfrog cam is currently only a re-grind, whereas the Crane cam is a fresh grind...


either one is good though.....

 

yes that would be correct that bill gude only does regrinds. i don't know why but he does

 

People have been using regrinds in the d16 since it came out(Jackson racing for ex).I would go with the Gude Team cam check it out on their site in the 88-91 section I forgot the part # but it says "team cam" this thing pulls pretty hard with a little head work.

 

id idn't say that was a problem but i am jsut saying all he doe sis regirnds. while crane will grind one on a new billet for ya

 

Well, it will be for a boosted application...Crane makes one specifically for boost and quicker turbo spool. I didnt notice if Gude did a turbo cam. So basically my options are Crane and Gude?

i used to have a JG 301 mild cam...and a JG 404 Race cam...before i got my b16...the mild cam was perfect for the street, but the 404 was hella wild

 

I'd go Web cam any day before any of the other companies. They've been doing cams for a long, long time, and really know their ****. http://www.webcaminc.com

 

I second that. I had a friend who had a webcam in his d16 and it was running really quick.I think his best time was like 15.01 with the cam and i/h/e

 

The Webs look like regrinds...and they dont have one for boost.

i kno zex jus came out with a cam for a d16, but i dont actually kno anyone who has it. any of you heard much about it?

 

ZEX cams are for SOHC VTEC, not A6's.

Wait a second......I just read on Crower website A6 cams are coming soon.

Gude, Web, etc are all regrinds. It is difficult to find companies that will make billet cams for the d series motors.

 

just go for the Zex cam. not a regrind.

Their Gorilla Jr. cam sucks the donkey nuts too.

 

i got the crane turbo cams. good stuff. a lot more mid range power.

 

Check out delta cams http://www.deltacam.com i ordered my cam from them they have two models the 260 and 272, ill let ya kow ho wit works when it gets here.
