1983 250 Custom = good beginner bike?
Hello. I'm looking to buy my first bike, and I found a bike in town that looks good. It's a 1983 Honda CM 250 custom. It's in pristine condition except for a small dent on the tank, and has been garage kept and not ridden for the last few years, but he got it out and has ridden it recently and it runs well. Has 13,000 miles on it, with no cosmetic damage whatsoever except for that one dent. So my question is; would this be a good bike for my first one? He's asking $600, is that a good price? He says it sputters a bit when it starts up, but runs fine after that, and he cleaned the carb. Thanks.
The CM 250 C's are fun bikes. They have pretty good engine performance and good reliability. They have poor offroad and race track capabilities, and arent the greatest for touring.
For a first bike, i'd say go with it. $600 bucks is a good deal.
