Default Pro Miata at LRP

Congrats to James Evans on a solid 4th place showing in Race #1. The King Rat cars were there as well. Payton Wilson lead early before an off. Over6 Racing was there as well. I think that both cars were in the top 10.

On a side note. Goddamn the pro miatas are quick. One hell of a race from start to finish. It was infront of a NASCAR crowd as well. BIG

Wow, what a weekend! I sat on the pole for Monday's race, but ended up fourth. James was fifth. I led the first six laps, and ran second for the next six, but a full course caution bunched the whole thing up and made for a crash-fest. I was lucky to finish at all. Some dirty driving lost me spots on the restart and I had to fight for my life!

For those of you with HD Satellite or Cable, the races will be replayed (they were televised live) on Thursday and Friday. Check out http://www.hd.net for the schedules.

In all, a great race weekend - and I'm happy with the results considering it was my 6th pro race, and only my 8th roadrace ever!

Many thanks to http://www.speedniche.com for making this possible, http://www.tirerack.com for the sweet wheels, and http://www.kingmotorsports.com for cages that are the envy of the entire grid!

Ditto on the sweet cages. I was looking at your cars on Saturday. A true professional effort there

I didn't see the crash action, I was walking the track and in the West Bend area when it all happened.

After a disqualification of the first place finisher, James ended up in 3'rd. and recieved the Sunoco Hard Charger award on sunday for a 15'th to 5'th place finish. he also almost won the "log rolling championship" on sat night party in the paddock. Big ups to Dave Blevins and the whole Bukake motorsports team.

Actually, at Mosport contact was at a minimum. There were only a few slight bumps throughout some tight racing. That track is too fast and the stakes are too high.

At Limerock, all the contact was happening in the slower parts - people were 'blocking' with much more verve, knowing that the consequences were much less. At 1.53 miles, Limerock is just asking for a ton of contact.

That being said, there are only a few culprits - the majority of the drivers will race each other hard but clean. It's a good bunch, save for a few bad apples. That and the local hot-shoes that showed up were pretty rough as well!

Congratulations on a great run in a tough crowd! Wish I'd been out there, too. I haven't run Lime Rock since 1990.

Mosport was fairly tame......like Jason said. Most of the carnage was from people contacting the track walls, not each other. It is a extremely high speed track with very little runoff if any in some spots......not to mention the track was damp and very slick at times. and what's wrong with a little demo derby every now and again
