Tokico Blue Hp gas shocks. Worth the money?
I just picked up some Eibach Coilover springs for 40$ off a friend (insanely good deal). And i need to look into droping some money for new shocks. I looked on Ebay and found some Tokico shocks.
Anybody with experience with them? or suggestions on why or why not to get them?
here's a link to the ebay page: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33590
Should i buy or what?

no they're not worth the money
and cannot handle the springrates of those coilover springs,
i dont even know what rates they are but whatever they are I know the blues cant handle em.
paying 250bucks for shocks that are %15 better than stock is a waste of money

so if those aren't what i need, what should i get people? i havent got too much knowledge on shocks. didnt start thinking about them till about yesterday.
koni sports or bilstein shocks,
koni reds are ok from what i've heard,
they're going to be really durable,
dont know what kind of springrates they're good for though.
yellows are rebound adjustable.
bisteins claim to be self adjusting, but are definetely good shocks.
what are the springrates on the springs u got???

agreed they are a good shock for the price, but by no means the best... you get better quality with the bigger bucks...just plain and simple...

I am getting those same shocks for my 95 del sol. I have friends with them and they love em. Go for it.. I believe you can find them a tad cheaper on ebay tho. Keep searching.
I hate to sound like a *****, but do a search on about Tokico Blues. This topic has been discussed many, many times. You'll find all the pros/cons you could want.

How many of you have actually have expieriance with them? :sigh: Tokico blues are one of the best daily driven shocks I've tried. Eibach Pro Kit and Tokico blue will increase handling over stock of course, but will still ride like stock. Will it come close to say the Koni Yellow's and Ground Control's? Not even close for handling, but half the people in hear don't even need THAT set-up.

Exactally. It's not a hard-core race shock, however, not everyone nees such a setup. I had H&R Sports on Blues for more than 20,000 miles, including a 5,000 mile road trip, with zero problems. They are a good everyday shock. Okay for the occational autox, perfect for driving to work everyday without jarring your kidneys too much.

I have the H&R Sport spring with Tokico blue shocks. I am really satisfied with them. Like others before me have mentioned, they are not going to out handle a well thought out suspension setup. However, for street use they are great. They ride very comfortably. They work great with your average lowering spring. IMO, yes they are worth the money.

My only reasoning would be because people slizaaam the **** out of their car effectively reducing their shock to a large bumpstop....
but that's not the shocks fault.
