What's your VTEC engagement set at?
Mine was 5100
Now its 4700 thanks to VAFC and tuning
So what is yours? And did you find out anything useful by lowering VTEC engagement, whether it be Hondata of VAFC

stock, there's no fun in lowering VTEC unless you have a really light flyhwheel and you want to stay in VTEC while you upshift. Otherwise, it's an awesome way to burn gas.

first off, if your falling out of vtec on the upshifts with a lightened flywheel, u need to learn to shift.
secondly, you can gain 25+ whp in the midrange just by lowering vtec alone, so I hardly call that insignificant.
And to the original poster, i usually set the vtec to about 4700-4800 on a mostly stock motor, that shows the most gains and smoothest power delievery on the dyno.

Someone didn't know what they were talking about. Idle has nothing to do with vtec engagement.

Used to be 5250 RPM.
Got it tuned and it was set to 4800 RPM.
Got it tuned again with cams and it's at 5200 RPM.

But that's not surprising since you are now running different cams.
