Why is BAR using this "Red White Bronze" mugen logo Colour in their car??, is that mugen involved in BAR Honda this year ??

 

Mugen had been dead for a while. Something about tax evasion and corruption. Really embarassing for the old man Honda himself, as Mugen was a relative.

They were taken over by some other company wich keeps the name active, but that's one of the main reasons that it's quiet around mugen.

 

mugen used to build F1 engines, but I'm not sure that they still do since it's "MTEC" now for the reasons stated above... I think the real reason is b/c those are lucky strike colors

They just renamed the company to skip out of the shame. The guy mainly responsible for the financial problems is facing charges etc...

Mugen is still alive in the parts they've been producing, but new things will be developed with the new name.

1) Mugen is alive and well.
2) Mr. Soichiro Honda started Honda. "Old man Honda himself" died in 1993. Hirotoshi Honda, his son, started Mugen and yes I'm sure he is embarrassed abotu what happend.

1)They re-incorporated under a new name M-Tec and market the Mugen brand.
2)Quiet around Mugen? What are you talking about.....

damn, so that was lucky strike logo huh??
It make me missed thougth because the colour was very same as the Red White Bronze Mugen

 

I also noticed the colors on a pit/garage worker's shirt during qualifying. The same colors as Lucky Strike, but the shirt had a 3-sttripe logo on it.

Kind of like this but vertically on the worker's sleeve:

 

The Lucky Strike-sponsored motorcycles also had the same "stripe".

You can be as ambiguous as you want about the status of "your" companys involvement; but fact remains that there is no Mugen in F1.

Tell your superiors at MTEC they need to do a little better PR work, if they would like people to believe that they are still in the sport.

Company pride/loyalty though, I can respect that.

I hafta say I think its part of the Lucky Strike colors and a taste of the mugen flag. Lets see some pix? I always knew Mugen was ... Sorry to hate to all you JDM buffs- but the "new company" sells at top dollar prices, for average products.

I believe, but I am not 100% sure, that Mugen is supporting the 64 King Motorsports World Challenge RSX for a few races this season.

 

i think some of you are confused as to what the state of "mugen" and its current name of "m-tec". the name change happened simply because the ceo messed up so the "company" had to fold on paper, but the "brand" still exists in what is now the "new" company, which has the same ppl minus the previous ceo. theyre still involved in the same motorsports (ie JGTC) and offer the same products, which they can still market as "mugen" and their trademarks.

Yes, and we're running the BAR/MUGEN F1 engine in the RSX

I guess choosing to believe that Mugen is secretly working for BAR F1, and hence the colour scheme of the car is alot more reasonable than something called a coincidence.

Without any proof, (and I don't count a hearsay opinion from an indirect employee of Mugen/Mtec as legitimate) then you really can't make such an argument.

But like I said, you're loyal to your employer. So choosing to resort to rumors heard from water-cooler conversations at work, is understandable. God forbid King should lose sales from people that have lost respect of Mugen because of their demise in Formula 1.

Umm, no.

I am just stating what is publicly known. There is no mention of Mugen whatsoever in the BAR Honda F1 program.

Henceforth, it's pretty tall order to make claims based on a similar colour scheme on the car. Lucky Strike colours has been established long before Mugens.

Converesly, Ausmith is making private statements. The burden of proof is on him.

Publicly known? Show us a press release from Mugen saying they are no longer participating in F1. Your public knowledge is the same as Ausmiths "water cooler" knowledge.
