Well, my 1994 GSR has 167,xxx miles on the original motor. I've been good on the maintenance, but the timing belt/clutch/brakes/water pump all havent been changed in a while, and I noticed my car doesnt run as strong or solid as it used to, and i'm starting to here little rattles, misc things I'm not happy with. I want to rebuild my motor and make it pump out a couple more ponies but still make it super reliable and strong. Here's what I bought so far:
-Brand New USDM ITR pistons/rings/wrist pins
-New OEM GSR Timing Belt
-New Bosch Water Pump
-2 New front Brembo Slotted Rotors
-New Neuspeed Shifter bushings
-New Exedy Organic Race clutch kit
-New Aasco 8lb flywheel
-New GSR Head Gasket
-ITR Exhaust cam (already have the CTR intake cam)
So now I'm still looking to buy ARP head bolts and rod bolts. Now my question is, what else should I buy and install since the motor will be torn apart for the most part? I also bought some jdm itr inner valve springs, but I think it would be too much work just to put in the inner valve springs. Also, i'm still debating on finding a used itr lsd....Any suggestions on what I should still get/need, will help
thanks in advance

If the head is 164,000 miles also I would pay attention to that.
Valve stem seals, new guides, new valves, resurface .010 at least.
I saw the water pump on your list- don't forget the oil pump and tensioner.
Bottom end gasket kit also.
Maybe a new fuel pump- new spark plugs- new fuel filter.
Have fun with the build keep us posted on the results.

since i'm pretty new to this rebuild, i was hoping some of you guys would post what i would need and what is recommended during the rebuild. I was planning on having my friend's Honda mechanic do the rebuild for me, or my dad's mechanic since he always hooks up my dad and they are good friends........not sure. I just want to have all the necessary parts first then go from there. Thanks for the input so far....

get some minor work done, like maybe knife edging your crank, its not that expensive, around 200-300$ but if the engine is apart, you might as well, possibly a stroker kit? i dont know what kind of budget your on, but im sure if you 2 litered that bitch that it would rip, have fun on the rebuild, and enjoy it when your done

oil pump
tensioner
possibly new valves and valve guides
rod bearings
fuel pump
arp head bolts
arp rod bolts
anything else thats I SHOULD/NEED to get?....if i dont need it then i'm not worrying about it.
