Default cost/performance

I'm on a tight budget...i make about 130/week, plus factor in 65/month for insurance...and then gas...so...im looking to swap my crx dx stocker engine for something with some more power, and more reliability (mine has 204k miles on it)...whats the best *bang for your buck* motor...i was looking at sohc vtecs...zc motors....im not really sure....just want opinions and price quotes..very much appreciated and thanks.

what model crx do you have? and zc will prolly be the cheapest. depending on what model car you have is how much it will cost also. if you have the si its going to be cheaper than the dx. cause for one if you go the zc route you can use your si tranni and intake manifold and dont have to rewire anything. as where the dx you will have to rewire and you can use the dx tranni but its very long geared.

Do what I did...Go for a d16a6 (CRX SI) motor w/ transmission. If you wait long enough Youll find a good deal like I did *engine w/ tranny for 150 bux local*

there are 2 choices to go for: either bolt on the stocker, or save and translant. if you;re gonna transplant, you can either go single or double ohc, and then it all branches out. if you are lookin for a totally different car in the future, just get an intake, exhaust, new plugs, and a short shifter and you'll be lovin it.
