Default Info Needed For ZC Swap

Hey i just needed some info on this setup i want to do...I am buying a ZC DOHC motor... is there anything that I have to modify for it to fit my 92 civic hatchback?(ie wires, change distributors) I plan on buying the 88-91 ZC motor from Hmotorsonline ... i want to go turbo w/ the motor... whats a good size turbo to push about or near 12psi's? what turbo exhaust manifold do i use for this swap ? wat turbo cams can i fit in the zc head ? And finally what should i do for the turbo program ? like what program should i use ? this is going into a 92 civic HB...

The Smaller the turbo the safer it is to get to 12psi and quicker, beacuse they dont make that much power.

Get a custom Mani.

I dont know if there are any turbo cams for that motor, but i could be wrong.

Everyone would say get a Hondata s200 with the boost option. But if your poor (like many of us here are) get a VAFC and dig some cash out for a Urbadata.

Would any of the Eclipse Turbo's do any good ? 1st Gen or 2nd Gen Eclipse turbo ? Where can i have a custom turbo manifold done... None of the other D-series turbo manifolds would fit ? Would I have to convert to obd0 from obd1 for the harness since the the motors were produced 88-91?

I dont think a D series Mani would fit because you are getting the DOHC ZC, if you were getting the SOHC ZC then thats another story. (the DOHC ZC kind of stands out alone)

Eclipse turbo would completely need a custom mani. There was a thread about it yesterday i think.

You could get it custom made by shops that know what there doing, I dont know much about CT so maybe some CT members could help you with that.

If the motor is going in a "EG" then youll probably need to do a conversion for it from OBD0 to OBD1. newman and kartman (i think its kartman) sell conversion kids like that.

Any other questions?

How much do the obd0-obd1 conversion adapters? I was also wondering if this was a good swap or if any other person had done this swap in an EG ? Also how does Uberdata work actually ... I've heard of it before but never really looked into it...

Its kind of the same as Hondata just cheaper. People say Uberdata is better for turbo cars and Hondata is for NA (or the other way around). I cant afford Hondata so im going with Uberdata.

Look around Honda-Tech for the conversion harness. Theres some in the classifieds.

I would personally get either a Z6 or a JDM D15B VTEC (wow jumping on the bandwagon here) if i was limited on money for a swap. I wouldnt really get a DOHC because theres not that much info on it. But thats just me.

yeh i understand wat u mean all day i've been searching for facts... the only reason why i want to get it is because its a cheaper version of the LS 10 or so less hp and the zc has almost as much torque as the LS... the LS costs about 1700 for the whole swap while the ZC is only going to cost me under 600 ...

i would go w/ the custom jy mani that everyone else uses for their d series. any d series exhaust manifold will bolt up to the dohc zc, it just requires a slight port job for optimum efficiancy.
