so i was driving my aunt's rsx around and well, the feel of the car just feels tighter. More responsive and whatnots. The steering was stiff. The car didnt roll all that much. So i was wondering what exactly is was that was making the rsx feel like this. Struts/springs stiffer im guessing? It kinda felt like it had stiffer bushings or something. I heard the body of the rsx is stiffer too.

Sorry, i havent paid much attentino to hondas or any FWD cars because i was more focused on the wrx but ended up not getting one. =\.

I was wondering what parts i would need to put in my gsr to have it feel as tight. I really liked the tightness of the rsx. But i would still think the double wishbone suspension of my gsr, if put to potential would outperform the macpherson struts.

Anyways, any suggestions?

 

i heard the gsr handles better than the type s because of the double wishbone compraed to mcpherson.. maybe the feel of a newer car?

yea how many miles are on the gsr. bushings wear and alot of different factors as the miles go on the car.

 

i had an rsx for a loaner car, and i thought it felt too bouncy to be stock, imo...i love how my gsr feels stock better than the rsx...but the rsx did feel more responsive..less body roll

 

Well I agree that the you have to take in consideration of the fact that its a new car. My moms volvo feels nicer(not a word i know, lick me) than my dads porsche, but she has new bilstien coilovers and he has stock shocks from 89 so age makes a big difference. If you where to replace your bushings, shocks, and your rack&pinion, im sure your car would feel alot better than the rsx.

 

RSX is going to feel tighter than Gs-R stock to stock.

I've spent quite a bit of time firming up my chasis and running a crazy suspension setup...the car still feels loose. It's mostly just metal fatigue/bushings.

 

I have driven both and i'm sure the gsr is a better handling car than the type-s
in high 100mph corners the rear on the type-s wanted to sway alot more than the gsr

Having driven both, RSX Type-S in just about every performance category. For a minute or two, when I pushed the RSX, it felt like a RWD sports car.

Yeah, I agree. Every single car magazine I have read with a road test of an RSX-Type S says it will **** all over ANY GS-R, any year.
I have not seen one bad or iffy review anywhere for the Type S, not one.
Just my .02 cents.

Ever seen Japans Integra TypeR vs the New RSX typeR? Stock vs Stock.

The Integra OWNS them every ROUND! but very close race.

 

The spring rates that the GSR and RSX-S run stock, how stiff the chassis' are shouldn't even be considered.

 

actually the rsx had 88k while my gsr has 50k. So that pretty much excuses a lot of your guys' answers... Oh yeah... my gsr is a 2001 while the rsx is a 2002

Miles wont really matter. Still if to be highway miles or not. Thats not the concept. Its all with the suspension. Hard or Soft or Medium. But think that all these option effects ride comfort.. Good or Bad..

Think about it. If you want to be raced out and go STIFF *** spring rate or you want ride comfort and want somewhat good and stiff handling., then you want something more "sport" like. Then to be "Race" or even wanting to be "luxury comfort"... You decide.

 

regardless, I don't get what the big deal is...hell, I don't even read car magazines anymore, because when I go shopping for a car the first thing I do is look at what/how to modify it.

from what i was told, rsx's pilars are filed with foam to help stiffen the chasis, and reduce squeeks and rattles. this mightbe the reason the rsx feels stiffer.

you can fill the pillars, and parts of the chasis with foam, just be carefull were you put it. this will help stiffen your chasis. and foam is light

 

driven both pretty hard and i came to a conclusion

DC5&gt;DC2 STOCK suspension

DC5&lt;DC2 suspension modified on both

 

I would think that the dc2&gt;dc5 because of the doublewishbone.
