Best sleeved coilover/spring match for my revalved Koni Yellows?
I've been running on revalved Koni Yellows since I got the car over a year ago. The original owner called them "touring spec", so whatever that means. I contacted Koni directly and they explained they are basically rear CRX yellows, revalved with a longer piston and stronger valving, along with the ITR fronts, with the same revalving and longer piston. From what I was told, they are a good deal stronger than the orignal yellows, and offer topside adjustability for the rears, which previously had to be adjusted on the underside.
I figured this was a very good base to start with, but now it feels as if the springrates are just not aggressive enough to match my tires. I had a previous bad experience with sleeved type coilovers (skunk2 to be exact) on my old car...mainly the noise. So I've been thinking that a spring might do the job better than sleeved-type. I am not concerned greatly about ride height, although I'm not looking to be "slammed" by any means, I still drive the car on the streets and the JDM 4-1 does make contact with large humps as is.
So my question is, what do most of you run with your koni yellows. I understand that ground control offers a very well matched set for the yellows, and they offer custom springrates, which is a bonus in my book...but yet I'm still hesitant because I worry about noise.
My current track setup is:
stock springs
revalved koni yellows
205/50 Advan A032R-s
cobalt spec VR pads (front)
cobalt GT-Sport pads (rear)
goodridge ss lines
motul rbf 600
That is as much as I can think of that may be relevant.
Thanks ahead of time.

As far as I am concerned, there are only two sets of threaded sleeves that really work properly wuith the Koni circlip adjustable spring perches.
One is the sleeve that we make at Koni and were made specifically for our shocks and I have never heard of a rattle or failure issue. We do not list vehicle specific kits with springs however, just the sleeves themselves and you use them how you need.
The other option which is byt far more of a complete package offering is the Ground Control system that they put together specifically for Konis. They can advise on and provide springs and rates, top isolaters, etc. If you are not looking to put a kit together yourself (and even if you are), the Ground Control parts are good stuff and quite popular. Beware of cheap kits, you get what you pay for and lots of that is the engineering decisions behnd the scenes that you don't see when you open the box.

Thanks.
I think I will call GC this next week and talk a little to some of their techs and see what kind of kits they can provide with the shocks I have.
Curiosity question here...would a full aluminum coilover like the Zeal S6 be greater than, less than, or about equal to the performance my revalved yellows + GC's can offer?

Less than. Everyone will say that I am biased but I developed and often drove the Koni race valving and have seen the it and the Zeal on the shock dyno. No comparison. Not doing a sales job on you because you already own them and I sent you to another company for the sleeves and springs.

If all you want is a set of somewhat stiffer springs and a small drop-take a look at Neuspeed's offerings. H&R also has something that should work for you. As to the Skunk2 sleeves/Koni "yellow" shocks-that is what is on our CRX and there is no noise from them. Spring rates are you to you and the advice of those who have worked with various setups-Ground Control comes to mind and they have an excellent sleeve kit for the Koni shocks.
Keep in mind that the shocks are very good off-the-shelf. Unless you know the amount they were reworked you may need them redone to match any springs you decide on. BTW: I have not seen anyone lengthen the piston rod-just the opposite.
