okeee...
I just installed my AC and had it professionally vacced and filled.
everything rund as it should, BUT the compressor clutch does not run.
I unplugged the relay for the comp and tested two of the wires (of the 4) and with the AC switch on, two have power and the two below do not. I jumped the power to the lowwer one and lo and behold, cold air.
so is it a safe assumption that the relay is poo?

ok, i replaced the relay with generic 30 amp relay and all is well except....the car wants to stall and die when I run the AC at stops and idle sometimes.
revving a bit helps. could my flywheel be too light?
any ideas?

If there is no power on the opposite side of the AC relay double check everything.. you have a problem thats why the ECU is not turning on the compressor. Also un-do the fuse part you did.. its not safe because the ECU thinks the AC compressor is off.

so all 4 pins should have power? if the ecu thinks the compressor is off is that why it stalls? the ecu is not compensating for the extra load?
does anyone have a diagram?

IF you have an EG the relay for the fan and the AC are the same.. just swap them and see what happens.
color of the wire depends if you had a R12 unit or a R134A system to begin with.

ok im at my wit end. everty thing seems to check out, except for the DIODE. the blk/yel wire. how do i test the diode? is there supposed to be resiance? i ran in ohm meter on it and it showed an open circut.
Diode should flow power in one direction.. so if you have an DVOM it should have a test for Diode use it and see if it works... one direction you will get a reading the other you will not.

dont.. if you do then your system will freeze over then the pressures will be higher and the compressor will eventually blow over and might destroy it
