1995 del Sol VTEC - B16A3, Head work, TEIN SS, etc - Michigan
That's right, I'm selling my 1995 del Sol VTEC (I am located outside of Ann Arbor, Michigan).
This car has not seen winter for three years and has not been rained on more than five times since the original paint job. I have CONSTANTLY kept this car super clean and waxed it twice a month with Meguiar's Gold Class wax. Engine oil was changed every 1000 miles with Mobil 1 synthetic. This car has been my heart and soul for the past three years but it is time for me to move on, I have to pay some college expenses and therefore this car is a must sell. Please, do not waste my time with joyrides.
VIN: JHMEG2178SS000603
Mileage: 98167
This is the 1.6L DOHC VTEC B16A3 found in the JDM Civic SiR, the del Sol VTEC, and the 1999-2000 Civic Si. Why waste your time with an engine swap. Don't be fooled by the guys with del Sol Si's that call their cars the del Sol VTEC when they have SOHC VTEC D-blocks.

As you can see, I've done a lot to this car, and it is very reliable; I have driven it from here to Indianapolis and back with no problems at all.
Issues and Imperfections:
- The car needs a new clutch. I will include a ClutchNet Stage III 6-puck copper/copper clutch and HD Pressure Plate with the car at no extra charge.
- The car would like a suspension alignment. The new coilovers have changed the suspension geometry of the car, so an alignment would be a wise decision.
- AC (air conditioning) needs to be recharged. Since I had the targa (which DOES NOT LEAK) and I didn't ever use the AC due to parasitic loss, I never recharged it. You can probably get this done for free at the Honda dealer (AC compressor and all replaced) since a TSB was issued for it back in 1997. I have never taken the car in because air wasn't a priority for me. Otherwise, you just need new refrigerant.
- The auxiliary lights need new light bulbs. This is common with the del Sol. I was planning on swapping the lights out of the car for Angel Eyes, so I never got around to replacing the bulbs.
- The door handle on the driver side door needs to be repaired internally. A spring is maligned. This is a ten minute fix.
- There is only ONE SCRATCH in the paint that I know of near the trunklid. It is BARELY noticeable. A picture of it is included.
This is all I can find "wrong" with the car. Brake pads are in great shape, the rear brakes were replaced right before I got the car, and the car went to the Honda dealer for its 90,000 mile checkup (timing belt change, serpentine belt change).
I have an array of other parts that will go with the car, including the clutch/pressure plate, Skunk2 Rear strut bar, and a short ram intake. I have a couple of extra oil filters as well that you can have. I really hate to see this car go but I have no choice at this point. College is (sadly) more important
I was setting this car up for a massive (350whp) turbo project and now am not able to complete it. Some more aggressive cams and nitrous would work well at this point too.
This car is worth $7300 on NADA in stock form. I will let the car go for $9,000.00 OBO. For You could easily sell the seats and the suspension (since to date the suspension has no miles on it) and make $2500.00 off them alone, not to mention I am giving the clutch and the pressure plate with the car.
Like I said, the car is in great shape except for its little imperfections. I will have the suspension done and the car will be running by June 5 (I have college as well as a job, so I haven't had much time to work on it.)
If there is not much interest in my car I will put it on eBay, but I'd rather not do that since I'd rather not give my car to a ricer
If you have any questions or would like to look at the car (after June 4) feel free to email me at eston@umich.edu or AIM me at qsilver074. Please do not send me a PM because my computer does not like HT's PM system.
Pictures are as follows. These pictures were taken in September of last year before the car went into hibernation for the winter. It was lowered on Progress lowering springs at the time (the TEIN SS is much better
)

Edit 06.14.04: $9000 OBO (price lowered), I gotta get rid of this car

Honestly, I have had a couple of people come up with trades and I wish I could take a few of them. I can't, though, I need the money for college expenses so another car won't help me

tein SS costs $1000 last time I checked. This car's stock NADA value is $7370. Add $7500 in various modifications (including custom paint)...
rocket, I've been out to farmington hills a few times but I don't think I've been there enough for you to see my car more than twice or three times. Find me a buyer out that way
