Default Black key, red key, valet key?

On my 99 GS-R I have 2 different Acura keys. One is all black and the other is all black with Red Acura lettering. Which one is the master key and what does the red Acura lettering key used for? Is there supposed to be a 3rd key for valet?

I had a 00 GSR with the red lettering "A". But I've also seen white lettering "A" on Integras, CLs, and RSXs. I've also seen black keys too. My GSR key was a master key, and so is my white RSX key. I would also like to know the difference between the two.

the red lettering is the "master" key. the black lettering and longer key doesn't unlock the trunk or glovebox. it is the "valet" key.

My 00 GSR does not have a "pop trunk" lever. I think 00+ don't. Mine unlocks along with my doors.

94-97 Integra have hatch levers near the gas lever, 98-01 Integra have the hatch lever on the hatch. What keys are the ones with the white lettering?

I have a 2000 GS-R

Hatch is electronic release at the rear..

I got 4 keys, 2 remotes

2 keys w/ the red "A" on them, 1 Grey Valet key, and one black key w/ a much smaller head.

Want to tell us what each of them are for?

I'm not even sure myself, I guess I could look in the manual.

The red logo ones are master keys, the grey is valet and i'm guessing doesn't open the glovebox or whatnot...

the black one I have no clue, I'll get back to ya if I figure it out,

Keys with the white "A" emblem are for 01 Acuras. The 00 Acuras have a red "A" emblem.

Oh ok, so they did away with the JDM colored key ( ) and went with the white for the master. The red looked better IMO.

Are they the laser cut ones? Like the 04 Civic/JDM DC5R? I like those.

actually, i didn't think so... they looked like normal cut, the remote was a separate peice too, i know the 03 accord has a different kind of cut and the remote is built into the key.

the cool thing about the TL keys is that if you unlock it w/ key 1, everything inside goes to key 1 settings, if you unlock w/ key 2, it changes to what settings you had w/ key 2...
So if you have two ppl driving the car it changes to that persons key...

I did realize something wrong with it all though... if I had an 04 TL i sure as hell wouldn't be letting anyone else drive it! haha

Oh yeah, they also have a chip in the key, the car won't start w/o the chip supposedly.
