this is the second time i've changed my mtf this year, and both times i found flecks of brass and metal in the fluid, along with some black pastey stuff on my magnetic drain plug. my question is, is this unavoidable? has anybody ever changed their mtf and found it to be absolutely clear of any particles? i used honda mtf then redline mt90 in my last 2 fluid changes

 

Everytime I change the MTF I find small particles in it...

then again I need a tranny

 

don't we all need trannies

 

it's completely normal given these transmissions

Brass is from the synchros and the metal pieces are probably from the gears wearing against each other. This is normal, unless the pieces are pretty large (ie. bigger than flakes)
