How hard is it to install a JDM RHD front clip with all the necessary wires and drop my gsr engine in it and bolt/weld the whole clip to my USDM Chassis... what is the labor and what are the procedures to doing it!?

='s good man that takes pride in his post..

as for me, well im not too familer with the dc2's or anything.. but im kinda confused, would the RHD clip have all the mounting points and stuff backwards? and howcome you wanna do this? did you stumble across one for cheap? was it the only one you can find? and yes yes yes i know this is goin to be a dumb *** question.. but when you say JDM RHD front clip, thats like the conversion that we can buy with the g2 style lights right?

WHAT I AM ASKING IS:

Like could they use what is on the front clip and transfer everything to my USDM like the whole steering colum, dash, wiring, sub frames, Raquet Pinion Steering, everything if I got a JDM RHD front clip?

ugh. you guys.

you can do it. it's been done before, specifically on the RHD laguna seca blue GSR that used to be on here. i dont know whose it was, and i know it was in a mag. try and look for him.

but, i don't see a point. it'll make your frame incredibly weak and very vulnerable, and it's much safer and probably more cost efficient to just transplant the motor and front end.

Raquet pinion.....hmmm.

Seems like too much work, just transfer the important stuff. The subframe can't be too strong if you cut it and weld on a new one. Better to have a whole subframe.

My $0.02

so you bought just the clip with no motor? what exactly did you buy? a JDM type R clip? did you buy this purely for the conversion to RHD or is the JDM ITR front (the good front end) part of the plan? i seriously hope you didn't buy a "frog eye" JDM clip just so you can sit on the right side of the car when you drive...

i am no expert or have done this before but .....just think about all the weld spots/joints you would have to drill out or cut then realign/square the jdm frame to those spots (thats if the jdm one share the same spots) then weld those up. think of it as the jdm front end conversion but taken to a couple steps further or maybe even more. if u know who jay smith is thats pretty much what he did with his car...

What I did is purchase the whole from clip from the dash up to the radiator support. It is off a 99 JDM GS-R. THe only thing its missing is the engine tranny ecu and axels gauge cluster and steering wheel... otherwise its got everything I need to convert to RHD. I hope its possible!?
