Default rod knock????

I went to look at a 95 prelude si with 165k on it and right from the startup it had a knocking noise.

The owner said that its been like that from the start and that he was the only owner of the cars 165k.

Now I know its common to have the valves get noisey after that many miles but it sounded more like a knocking that got progressively faster as the rpms went up.

What do you think??

joeD.

Sounds like Rod knock to me. the seller most likely know it and is trying to get rid of it quickly before it goes.
Unless hes giving you one hell of a deal and you have enough money left over to either do a swap or replace/repair the bottom end then I would not have anything to do with it

I got him down from 3950 to 3700$

The body looks good besides the normal rust on the rear fenders

good deal?
