polishing/cleaning the lip?
i recently picked up a set of sprint hart cp wheels. condition wise, they're in really good shape. i'm going to be re-spraying them RED, so the center part will look shiny and new again. the lip, however, is a bit dull. how can i make my somewhat oxidized (?) lip look like this:

would it just be a matter of polishing or will i need to take a fine grit sand paper and do it that way?
thanks
robert

cool. does the mothers mag polish come with an applicator, or is there a specific way to apply it? if i don't get the shine i'm looking for after the polish alone, i'll wetsand the lip with 2000 grit and then repolish. thanks again guys.
do it right.
i picked up some mugen MR5's and i had the same problem. i took it to a local wheel guy who does good work and he polished them for me. the mothers **** will only work if you have something to work with..... make sense.
i would take it to a wheel shop and have the polished for real, mine turned out BEAUTIFUL and it only cost me like 30 a wheel

yea, this is what i'm going to do. "doing it right," to me, doesn't always mean having someone else do it for me.

Good luck with it. 2000 grit sandpaper, and some type of metal polish (Mothers, Meguires, etc) will do the trick. If you have a friend help you out, it'll go much quicker.

your right, it totally agree, there are VERY few things done to my car that i havent done myself. but in this case IMO(which is the key phrase) it would be best to have them done professionally. and i say this because i have done both. the DIY looks good, but when i had them done they looked brand spankin new.
but like i said either way its up to you, just sharing my experiences.
good luck, nice wheels
