ITs okay to have the battery that close to the intake thats how it comes from factory.. well close wise..
BTW thanks for the pics.. that how i have mine right now but its roped.LOL, i was going to use the stock brackets but they are too long so i bent them to make em shorter but there is no room for the bent part on the underside so it wont go in all the way.. guess i'll make my own custom one like ur .. thanks EF_LsVtec~

i got the small battery from thunderstrike or whatever it is motorsports and works great clears all charge piping and starts the car up everytime
No problem...I bought my raw materials from my local hardware store...except had a friend cut and weld em for me. I'm sure you can get aluminum bars that would work as good

i would post a pic of mine but it is identical to this with a yellow top and a white floor pan.
soon to be replaced by a sealed box so i can pass tech inspections though.

We think alike.. on the aluminum part especially. .want to keep the weight down .. part of the reason i got the battery, dont corrode.... at first I even thought about mounting it on the firewall like the DC's and Ek's. but then noticed there isnt much room!
mount it behind the passenger seat. there is a series of plastic clips that happen to hold 2g battery cable nicely and snugly under teh carpet shell. just use on of the seat rail lugs to ground to and fee the cable up throught the grommet ont he firewall that the ecu connectors comethrough.
I did mine like this article:

If you look under the panel right beside the small "personal" storage compartment, my 90 HF has a welded in tab with a welded on 7/16-20 (SAE) nut. This was not used but was aparently for seatbelt ancor because of the sae thread. Anyway, this makes a super ground lug.

FYI You can use a tractor battery from home depot to run your car. Its similar to these slim line batteries (well, its about half the size of a standard battery), and only about $40
Good to know.. is it a drycell batter as well?
To those of you that have relocated the battery : Does your car now take a second extra to start? or is it the same?

Since we are at the same topic, can I ask where did you get those braket from? Hard-ware store, Home Depot? Lowe's? Also, I have an Viper alarm on mine, and I just put the Odyssey batt on it. Does the alarm going to drain all the juice from the cell gel battery? Thank you
My bracket is made of two 16" threaded rods and a flat piece of billit aluminum rod that I cut to proper size also some washers and nuts to hold everything in place. All of this was from Home Depot.
