yes, del sol's are eg's. they are base from the same platform, hence... "civic del sol." what do you need to change in your buddy's car? search google/ yahoo or i believe a member here has the helms manual that you can download.

 

well we think it might be the altenater. we are still doing some diag. (any help is glad aprreciated!) but basically i posted in another forum about his car starts then dies... but we fouund when you put the key on the on position normally the IC(instrament cluster) lights up then when you start it dimms alittle and the motor runs (this is normal) but his when its in the on postion the IC has no power to anything. when you flip on the lights on the IC flash but you lose power. so if you have the key in the off position then turn the key FAST the car starts... and runs...

things to rule out thus far: fuel filter... i changed it last night.
things to rule in? i dont know below is more info.

he was driving yesterday and it just died.... i got it running again. but noticed his power cuts in and out... how do i know this? well he and I both never had headlight buzzers(turn your car off lets you know you forgot to turn headlights off) so we got a DIY guide of here and did it.... WHEN DRIVING the buzzer will buzz on and off like we shut the car of but we didnt cause we were driving... which leads me to believe he is losing power.

so could it be the Alt? Main Relay? Starter?

some of these may be stupid but check the terminals on the battery and make sure they are semi-clean. Also how old is the battery. When the car cuts out does it have enough power to bring on the lights in the instrament cluster when you go to start it again. If you aren't getting power and your battery and terminals are good then i'd say its the alt.

 

When you find out exactly what you need or want to do, let me know. I have the '92-'95 EG Helms in .PDF format. I will NOT send it to you because I'm on a 56K connection, and the file is too ******* big to send on a 56K. But, I can take "pictures" of the pages and then e-mail them to you or post them up or whatever. I'm leaving town in about two or three hours, so you have until then! (Which is two or three hours from the time I made this post.) Don't mean to sound cruel about it, but just letting you know.

Oh, and if you're wondering how I got the file if I'm on a 56K, I used to have DSL, but that went away when I moved. Now I'm on my university's free modem pool.

 

battery is new.... terms are good. when we lose power and driving the lights dim them come back up fast....
