Default Security for the R

Is there any way to upgrade to a 2 way paging system w/o ripping out the existing alarm and starting over? I have a crimestopper alarm and would like the 2 way paging feature, although I don't want to rip out the one I have now. If anyone can shed some light on this topic, I'd appreciate it

there's a security forum on HT. anyway, most-likely it'll just be a better idea to rip out the current alarm for a new one that features the 2-way. that way, you can hide the brain in a different location like under the seat or somewhere hidden.

Clifford 2.5x sweetness...

A good installer will run all new wire and have a completely clean install.

You should get the Batmobile system. It let's your drive your car from a remote location so you can just drive your car away from the thieves or drive them directly to the police!

see if crimestopper makes a paging alarm. if its like the viper you can add the responder to any of the new viper alarms its basically the remote and a longer range antenna in the vipers case.

lol

there are systems now available with paging system and gps tracking modules. they will alert you via cellphone if anything goes amiss with your car. you can track it via internet. you can check it's status through your phone as well. you pay a monthly fee, but you get what you pay for. look into DEI's stuff (makers of viper alarms)

i'd stay away from lo jack it doesn't seem to work so great.

compustar makes a good pager system. viper 791xv is recommended too. scrap your current system. get a backup battery siren too.

apparently autolock makes a hood locking system which mounts to the hood and requires a key from the inside to pop it... but thieves can access your engine bay without popping it via headlights and wheel wells.

find a GOOD place to do your install too... don't cheap out on security.
