replacing faded mouldings

Default replacing faded mouldings

is it easy/hard to take off the mouldings on the quarter panels....and how can i do it??? i want ot replace these 13 yr old faded ones...........thanks

just replace them like the link that El Vap gave you. and paint them if you are on a budget

do they still look that way...and the paint looks like the stock mouldings???

use KIWI black shoe dye...makes the mouldings nice and black for a long time!

Hrmm, this is the only pic i have that shows what the moldings will look like:



As you can see, it has this satin-like finish. After about 3 light coats, you'd be suprised at how new they look. They don't even have that repainted look

No biggie, i only used about 2-3 for the lining of the moldings. Other than that it was all newspaper.

thAt's what I did, but damn man! I only used a roll of 2" masking tape, and got no overspray...that's a lot of effort, but I guess for a white car, it's worth it...

damn it ......i got bondo smoothed out that covers the moldings and now i want to remvove it and put back the stock moldings on, how can i take it off without having anyair tools?

if you shaveed over your mouldings you are going to need to get all of that crap out of the valley, clean out the mountig holes, sand and blend the body lines around where you added all of the filler, paint the bitch, and then install new mouldings.

regretting your decision to shave it now huh?

Did you bondo it yourself? If you had a shop do it they may have done it correctly and welded a strip of metal in there! 1/4" of Bondo in there could crack over time.
