I have an 88 DX hatch. the hatch light is acting funny. Actually, it was like this when I bought it, but didn't really care. Anyway....When the car is running but the brake pedal is NOT pushed, the brake lights are off, but the 3rd brake light is on. It is on w/or w/out the parking brake. Now when I hit my brakes, the normal lights turn on, but my 3rd brake light turns off. It's backwards and now it's starting to drive me nutz!!!!!! Can anyone please help me out here?!

Follow the wiring harness through the back half of the car. There may be a couple of ground wires that stick out and bolt to the body. Look for corrosion. Also check all of the bulb sockets in the rear for corrosion.
