stamp vs merge collector? prospeed header qs
probly gona be snaging a prospeed header soon.. wondering what teh dif is between stamp and a merge collector? cuz its a 200$ USD price dif. difference in power gains?
also what would happen if i didnt get it stainless steal or cermic coated? rust easy ?

the difference is the inside. i believe with the stamp all 4 come together like having 4 straws together and one big straw over them.
with the merge the take off the material on the inside.
i know my analogy sucks
but if i'm wrong someone let me know.
i found a real answer....

Matt,
our street collector is our "basis" collector design which unites the area where the four pipes meet with a plate. the merge collector, as seen in the pic i have attached, requires more labor time but incorporating a "peak" where the four pipes meet. this peak's spec varies from different fabricator and we have found the best angle for honda motors. The merge collector combines high flow and high velocity to increase and broaden an engine's torque curve all the way to horsepower peak and beyond.
As far as performance difference between the two collectors goes, the difference on a STOCK motor is only about 2whp difference, which is the reason why we normally recommend the street collector to most customers. Customers with high modified engine with high compression would benefit more from the merge collector, because you will see better hp figures in the high rpm range which would benefit you greatly on the dragstrip.
Keep in mind though that our street collector is a very well designed collector also and beat the majority of collectors currently on the market right now.
The H-Series will fit into the prelude chassis. You just need to tell us that it will be going into that chassis so that we can angle the header correctly. btw, it will clear the front mount.
hope this helps, i know it helped me

with the merge, they say you pick up a few extra ponies. i went for the merge myself. i figure if im gonna get a nice header spend the extra cash and love it.
These are questions brian would be more than happy to answer for you
