i consider any head 'good head' hhahahahaha. on a serious note however, i don't know what would be a good head for the 1.5. i know you can do some kind of swap with it. but i would think maybe getting a gude head package or something. a good solid 30+ hp at the wheels.

The best head for the 1.5 is a 92-95 D16Z6 head or 96-00 D16Y8 head. Both SOHC VTEC. You can just stick the head on there and use the stock intake manifold and get something to activate vtec, but I'd convert it to multi point injection.

Yeah, just get the Z6/Y8 head and convert it to the mini-me with multi-point FI. Then get something to activate the VTEC. Or if you don't want to fool with VTEC. Just get a Si head and then convert to MPFI, and get a good cam like the GUDE. This also will give you a good HP increase. The cheapest would be to just get the Si head.
But then again any head would be good. (no pun intended)

THe best head is when your master cylinder gets well lubed and your ball bearings get fully glazed!

I'm considering a similar swap. What is involved in "getting something to activate vtec" and "convert(ing) it to multi point injection"?

DX and Si head are one in the same. No power gains by using Si head.

Just more useless bad info

i believe that if my knowledge serves me correct the d16y7/8 head yeilds a higher compression ratio due to the combustion chamber and the d16z6 head has a more rounded chamber but i get the d16y8 due the higher compression unless you are thinking of fi the just get the z6
my .02
