Default JDM S1 tranny parts from a USDM S1...

will a USDM S1 tranny fit on a JDM b16a? if not, is there a USDM tranny that i can order synchros and maybe a few other parts from that will fit in the JDM S1, so that i dont have to order it from Japan?

I also have an s1, and looked into this several months ago.

Unless i was misinformed at the time (quite possible), or something has changed in the last several months to a year, the only replacements are from overseas.

I do seem to recall someone w/a connection or residence (perhaps miltary?) in Japan offered to get the parts ordered/shipped. (Most likely @ the cost you would expect for that sort thing)

That is the inherent downside of these 13-15 year old motor/trans combos from overseas.

Not sure of your situation or budget, but would the hasport cable to hydro kit be a feasible option?

As far as a usdm s1, i'd imagine any of those would be hydro...although i'm not too familiar with hydro trans and what cars/if they have them...

HTH.

Yeah, i understand, not taken as a 'dick'...

Just figured i'd throw you my 2¢ since no one else seems to be stepping up w/any useful, verifiable info. I can certainly empathize with your situation.

Perhaps this bump will help someone to chime in w/the info you need, or an exhaustive H-T or google search may bear fruit.

Best of luck to you!
