The other day I was putting in a new taillight bulb not knowing my friend put the keys in the ignition and he had turn the lights on and when I went to put in the bulb it sparked. After that i cannot get my car to turn over at all. I turn the key, and it wont turn over and then the check engine light comes out. I try it again and it does the same thing, and after a while it starts smelling like gas. What could this be. If anyone doesn't know it here, where could I find help a.s.a.p.

 

You probably blew a fuse, check your fuse box or console oin yourt car and look for one that looks black or fries. pull it out and get the model number and get a new one. once you replace it, it should probably work.

 

tried it, replaced them, still doesn't start.

 

does it try to turn over? just no spark? more details!!!!!! check fuses in fuse box under the hood on the passenger side strut tower. Could also be your main relay located behind your coin tray inside car.
