(I used search and found stuff similar, but nothing like my problem)
Ok, I used search when my car wasn't starting, but we got it to start. It idle'd funny as heck, and when I hit the gas it would cut itself off. So yesterday I tried to fire it up again, it took a couple of times but it finally did, but then it immdiately cut itself off.
I tried the floor and then start it teqnique which worked a couple of times, but the car would only rev to 2000RPM's and then shut off. Main Relay is good, fuel pump is good, spark plugs are good, distributor cap is good, spark plug wires are good. Anthing else?
What about the dis. coil. Would that cause these kind of problems?

Sorry its taken me so long to get back.
No, the ECU isn't throwing any codes. I don't know much about an ECU flashing any codes, mine never has. When I turn the car to "on" it flashes onces, but then no more. I figure this is normal and it means its getting power. If there is a problem the "check engine light" will be on the the flashing will be continual right?

Lots of Hondas (most?) don't even have an air flow meter. That's more typical for a European car.

Also, I have the intake assymbly all the way dissasymbled(sp?) from the engine, up the the butter fly valve thing (I took the black thing off). When I try to start the car with all that off, it will rotate, and attempt to start, but it will only run for no more than 3 seconds. And then sometimes it will shoot a white puff of smoke into out of throttle body.
::EDIT::
What size thread to i need thead do I need the sparkplug adapter for the compression tester to be? Or does it really matter?

I just read in the Chiltons manual that I need to warm the engine to N.O.T. in order to do the compression test. I thought about it and well.. its kinda hard to do when the car won't start. Any suggestions?
take off your intake and you should have two holes on your TB. check to make sure that the bottom hole on the throttle body is clear the top one is for the IVAC and the bottom one is for the TPS... i may have them in opposite order tho.... i tried to lower my idle by covering the hole completely but it made my idle drop from 900 rpm to less than 300 rpm....so i would start my car it would idle but when i put it in gear it would die......
then again it could be totally unrelated to your problem...but i decided to throw it out there....

The results aren't as reliable, but it'll tell you if something is grossly wrong.
