i have a 90 intera rs turbo motor with a non vtec head. is a vtec head with street/strip cams and an after market intake mani worth it, is it a big gain? or should i just stick with what i have. im not asking for hp #s or anything bc i know there is a bunch of varibles, but just give me an idea, and recommandations for cams and intake mani . what companies have the best products for turbo. thanks

no, vtec heads have different bolt patters on them than the the non vtec models.. now theres a site im sure someone knows.. or i can find it for you in a while.. but it lets you put on a vtec head to do a ls/vtec hybrid.. read up on the reliability of it.. and it comes all in a kit, so you can move the studs from the head, to the new location, and the oil lines and all that stuff..

and yeah, you will get some gains in hp and tq.. but while you swap heads, you can put you in some skunk2 cams and new valves and retainers and rods.. if any are bent..

other people will probably give you better info than i did.. im just tryin to help.

good luck on the project

ok....yes, they are interchangeable, yes the studs are in the same places, but there is modification that you'll have to do. You need to relocate dowel pins or buy ones specially made for ls/vtec. you also need oil lines running from the block to the head. please search.
