Default obd2 to obd1 conversion, is it worth it?

would swapping an obd1 ecu from a 94 into a 97 be worth the money? how much of a difference would it make?

why would you do that? seems to me that the more modern equipment would be more advantageous to you

its not worth anything and you wont gain anything from doing it. the only reason people do it, is becuase OBD I ecus are easier to tune.

It depends on what your going to so to it. If your just gonna put basic bolt ons on it then dont bother. But if your gonna tune the **** outta it then it'll be easier to get the OBD1 conversion done so u can use Hondata. You can also use the EMS too but ionno if u have to convert to OBD1 to use that, i think its OBD2 compatable.

AEM EMS will swap right into OBD2 wiring - no need for OBD1 swap

OBD1 is what you want...obd2 just has more electronics and more inhibitors .

Stay with obd1 you will be glad you did.

OBD1 is better. if you have OBD 1, keep it. if you have OBD2, dont bother changing it unless you have big plans, or are swapping an engine.

fyi, this isn't merely a conversion harness on the chassis harness, and then an obd1 ecu...first of all, the obd2 distributor will not work with the obd1 ecu...you will need to wire in the correct distributor wires and use an obd1 distributor...it's more of a headache than it's worth, and obd2 really isn't that bad...
