Default Plugs out to do valve adjustment

I have a 1997 civic Si, do the spark plugs have to be removed in order to remove the valve cover for a valve adjustment ?

No they do not, but the spark plug wires do .

It's easier to crank the engine over by hand with the plugs out, but its really your choice.

Thanks echo, I just thought that when i get my adjustment done, they could replace my plugs at no extra charge if they already had to take them out.

it helps to take them out.. makes it easier to spin the crankshaft.
