What color is the check engine light normally?
I drove this 1997 prelude (i'm lookin' to buy) and the check engine light was green. I asked the seller what was up and he said something about he just got the oil changed. In the articles section on this website (http://www.hondaprelude.to/articles...eck_engine.html), it says that the CEL turns yellow when there's a problem. So what does green mean? Thanks
nevermind, i got this response on another forum.
"The CEL is yellow and has an engine symbol in it. You won't see it unless it comes on.
The green indicator you are seeing is the scheduled maintenance indicator. Its not a light, but a flag that covers a yellow strip. Every 6000km (not sure about the exact km figure, could be 8000km. Grant/Mark/Joel could you fill in the correct milage?) the flag drops and its basically time for an oil change. You reset the flag by putting the car key into the slot under it."
