They are available for most models ranging from SOHC to DOHC VTEC. We have these synchros custom manufactured strictly for us using the latest technology available. Our synchros have a carbon coating versus your stock metal teeth. This allows for quicker shifting at high RPM's and reduces high RPM grinding that is common in B series transmissions. The Carbon coating acts as a braking material and stops the gear faster during shifts versus your standard synchro ring. Why buy stock synchros when you can buy these for a fraction of the cost?? For any technical questions or questions about applications, give us a call at:909-476-7252 or check out our website at: http://www.gear-speed.com Buy from the people who know what Honda Transmissions are all about!! >>Gearspeed Inc.

Also does anyone have the measurements for our 3dr, 4th and 5th gear syncros? i am prob gonna order a set today. But he wanted measurements just in case to make sure he sends me the correct ones.
let us know how they perform
I'm sorta skeptical, looks just like a stock syncro, with some carbon on the inside, which would make the tolerance tighter, maybe too tight, and the teeth themself don't seem to be coated, take some better pictures, when you get yours

i thought the same thing, but i think the pics might be off? I asked if they were proven and he said they work direct with American Honda on these. he said they run them on 4 NA 10 sec Hondas at the moment. They sell alot of Dog box trannies and **** too i guess.

seems fishy, if they are experienced as they say they are, then, he should already know what size you need

I have a full set of old syncros at home I think (not sure if I threw them out or not). I'll check when I get home. If I do, i'll measure them up for you.
thanks. Dan brought up a valid point in another thread. I dont know really anything about the insides of a tranny so bear with me . He had stated that replacing just the synchro ring wont help much if the rest of the synchro set is worn. Anyone else have ideas on this? im trying to do this with as little effort and money as possible becuase my 3rd gear is gone again. So this seemed like an OK idea.
That is true, but if you order the syncros from honda, they come as a set. Does this company sell the entire set, or just the syncro ring?
i dunno . i didnt even think to ask becuase i dont know better. Im assuming its just the ring becuase he said they were $30 a piece. How much do the sets cost from Honda usually?

I don't have the prices right beside me but I just got a quote from Len a few weeks ago.
1st-2nd is around $250
3rd-4th was $180
5th-R $120
I can't remember exactly but this is pretty close.

Depends on which set, I think i was quote like 280 for the 1-2 syncro set, 250 for the 3-4 set and 130 for the 5-r set. Not exactly sure on thouse prices. These were from my local dealer. Len was cheaper.

I might be buying a 3-4 set.
I never took 3rd gear above 7 grand until the other day(no room where I live). When I did i felt a slight grind so I tried shifting at 8K again but much slower and I still got the ******' grind. I just called the dealership but the salesman wasn't there. If I have to I'll purchase the extended warranty. Just really pisses me off that it grinds because it's only going to get worse and the car only has 30K(kilometers) on it. I haven't missed a shift yet so I can only assume the previous owner did. damit /rant

Hmmm, this is a very interesting discussion for me, since i hurt my tranny on my first HPDE and am likely gonna pull the tranny out, replace the clutch since it's getting kinda old, and have an expert pull the tranny apart and see what needs replacing. Hopefully there are some gineau pigs out there.
My 3-4th has also died at 30,000km here in Oz. Being fixed under warranty but this car has been babied! I don't understand... my previous ITR did 90,000km with not one gearbox hiccup and much trashing.
I'm in favour and in search of any stronger/better synchro available.

I would like to know this as well.

I just spoke with this company this week about replacing the synchros in a cable B16. From what I gather, the reason he asked for the size of the synchros is due to the varying sizes in different trannies/countries. My knowledge of gearing doesn't go very deep, but apparently Honda has too many variables in sizing and measuring is one way to be sure. I am ordering a set next week, I can post pics and a better description when I receive them.
i talked to him again , its jsut the synrco rings. and he said yes just the inside of the ring is done becuase thats what takes all the impact.
So the question now is will replacing just the syncro ring cure the problem or are the entire syncro hub assemblies usually worn along with the ring?
I would like to believe this will save me a ton of cash on my tranny rebuild but I'm not getting my hopes up.
