Default ECU/intake Questions

People have given tips about this on over threads, but I was wondering what is the best set-up. I have a d16y8 in my CRX, I am currently running the stock intake manifold with a stock throttle bored out to 59mm. I am using the stock '91 Si ECU with a Fields Vtec controller.

What would be the best intake/throttle body combination to use? I have a z6 intake and I can get a y8 intake. Should I put a GSR throttle body on a y8 intake, or should I put a holley (62mm) throttle body on a z6 intake? I just can't decide!!

What ECU should I use? Can I keep the stock ECU and compensate with the fuel mapping on my Fields Vtec controller? Or would it be better to get the conversion plug to run the z6 computer? Or should I get my stock ECU chipped?

I know I've asked a lot of questions, but it just seems like I have so many options and I can't decide what's the best.

Thanks in advance.

use the y8 intake manifold, its much better, flowing and with larger ports....
as far as TB, use a b-series or H22A, they bolt up and work very well, no compromises in quality...

as far as the ecu...it depends, your choices are, pm6 (si), Pm7 (ZC ecu) or PG7 (88-9 integra), all these work integra runs richest, and has a highest rev limit...
yes you can rechip your ecu as well.....or you can use a PR3 or PW0 with disabled second 02, knock sensor, and lower rev limit and less rich maps...

but your combo seems fine....i don't think more then 5-10hp will be gained even in best case scenario...but who knows..

Comparing the z6 intake with the y8, it seems like the runners are the same, the y8 simply has a larger plenum, hence maybe I little more low end torque initially. Wouldn't the z6 intake flow more freely at high rpms, because it doesn't have a large plenum to create turbulence?

i don't think so, its like the same case as in b16a and ITR, both are very similiar in runner size but ITR has a larger chamber/shorter for higher RPM power....

otherwise...are you selling you y8...if so let me know how much i am interested...

I think I will likely use the y8 manifold...I just gotta find a throttle body now, it's pretty hard to find one in the Vancouver area these days....everyone is snatching them up.
