Buying 5th gen prelude
I was supposed to go look at a prelude at carmax today after work (And buy it if everything was ok), but they said there was a problem. I had it transferred to Raleigh, NC from Norcross, GA when I was at carmax on Saturday. It arrived yesterday and they did a state inspection on it today (I'm not sure why, I guess they have to before they sell it). It failed inspection due to an EGR valve supposedly. This doesn't quite add up to me.... They had it on a lot in georgia but the EGR had failed, what would have happened if someone had test driven it in GA? Wouldn't this have tripped a CEL? Do EGR valves just simply fail? I just want to be informed because it seems to me that somebody is lying about something. I plan on going in there in about 2.5 hours to talk to somebody and find out wtf is going on. Thanks.
Oh, and it's a 1998 5-spd base with ~99500 miles.
