Wheel locks don't stop someone with a vise grip and who isn't concerned about scuffing up the chrome. They only stop a casual thief who is looking for a easy mark.
A set of McGard's only runs around $12-14. Cheap precaution that could save your wheels. The Acura brand locks are also McGards.

id probably go for the dealer wheel locks. the ones at pep boys reciprocate, meaning every 5 sets or so they start over, meaning all they have to do is steal a wheel lock key and a bunch of people bought the same set. get a boot that covers the lug nuts.. thieves usually want the whole set of rims or its not worth all the time and trouble for them to steal say 3 rims. no one is going to put 3 rims on their car, and if they do , you can most likely spot them.

I got a set of lugs from Acura for my OEM wheels (all the ones at the auto parts stores were too long and would have looked retarded), and probably a week later somebody tried to steal them, I found 3 lugs missing from one wheel, only the lock holding it on.
Then a week later somebody tried to break in, probably to try to find the key, but they didn't get in. I got an alarm after that, and haven't had any problems since (almost 3 years ago).

i dunno if honda lugs will work well on tuner wheels because tuner wheels use tapered seats and honda uses ball seats.. so if your buying aftermarket whell locks for your OEM's keep that in mind

Good advice. I say if you're going Honda/Acura wheels, stay with the OEM wheel locks.
If you're going aftermarket rims, go aftermarket wheel locks(but this isnt a sure bet like OEM wheels and OEM locks).

I have a set of McGard on my civic.....it uses one lock per wheel and spline locks for the other three. So you need two different keys, and you can't really used vice grips on em.

well they make aftermarket ball seat locks.. i saw them when i was looking for mine. just saying that if you buy an OEM kit now it might not work well with aftermarket.

I see Acura brand OEM NIB wheel lock sets on eBay for $12-$15. What is the price from an Acura/Honda dealer?
Of course, they tend to only work if the thief is reluctant to break into your car, as almost everyone keeps the lock key in the glove compartment or with the tire wrench. This is a deterrent as the thief may be wary of setting off an alarm. (I have to laugh when I read that some people using "The Club" keep their second key in their glove compartment ... hey the thief is already in your car if they are fooling with your Club, there's a good chance they will look in the glove compartment or console for the key.)
As to quality, it is hard to say that the Acura brand is better than McGard given that they are made by McGard.

McGard has 16 combinations on their Honda/Acura OEM locks. I know because a month ago I broke my lock, and I had to special order one directly from McGard. Meanwhile my car had two different sized wheels on it so it just sat there. The inner part of the key can and will warp, so if you can, try to get McGard to send you TWO identical locks so you don't end up in the same situation I was in...their high-tech way of sending you a new key? They have you take a digital picture of your lug and send it to them, and they "try" to match it. Lucky for me they were right...but please believe I took off all four and threw them in the woods. Not worth the hassle for my oem wheels. So just approach with caution...it's good if theives can't get your wheels off, but it sucks when you can't...
i think its pointless having oem wheel locks cuz anyone with oem locks has the key. I have 3 friends with different cars, one honda civic, one integra and one rsx, all bought new at different years and different dealers. all have oem locks and all have the exact same key.

wait you have chrome rims on your integra? Maybe you should take them off and just lay them on the ground for them, maybe even put them in a nice little box....

See my post above. It'd have to be one serious coincidence if they all got the same locks. They all LOOK almost identical...but they're not. Trust me, I sat there with the service manager and went through two boxes of McGard OEM Acura lock keys with them to find the one that would fit...and none of theirs even did.
