What brake shoe do you run in on your Civic/CRX?
OEM Honda will run the best and is what was recommended to me by a renowned Honda tuner in WI.
Make sure to adjust the drums before each weekend or session- this will help brake pedal feel stay nice and consistent.

Front pads: Hawk Blue although I may try something else that I don't know about yet
Rear shoes: OEM or cheapo adjusted up for every weekend and Saturday night if I don't have other pressing service work for the next day.
Rears do so little on this car and build and hold no heat that these are the best results that I found. I had a set of race shoe linings made several years ago and they made no notable difference that I found. I converted one car over to rear disks and found no braking improvement there either but it did require less to no adjusting labor. Not worth the swap effort and expense IMO.

Yup, OEM fron Honda. I ran one set of el cheapo's from Autozone (or somewhere like that) prior to the ITA build so I can't really compare. However, I have been pleased with the performance of the OEM shoes in the rear so I don't really plan to change.

Just picked up some OEMers from Honda. I compared them to some "el cheapos" at my local autoparts store and yes....they are of superior quality.
The more and more I play with hondas, the more and more I realize that Honda already thought of what I am thinking.....

I started running some sort of shoe Andie Lin got from Japan late last year and I LOVE them.
Was running NAPA golds (or something like that) and these are significantly better. Aggressive enough to help with pedal feel and not overwork the front brakes, but not so aggressive that you get a rear lockup issue.
I cant remember what these things are called though. If you call Andie and say "The ones Scott Giles has" he'll hook you up.
OPM is also now using these on their CRX/Civics.

One of the strangest things for me to get used to when I started playing with Hondas generally coming from domestics many years ago was that the OE and dealership parts for Honda are often superior in design or quality to aftermarket parts and I never got that feeling on domestics. Usually you had to leave the manufacturer to get better stuff.
