Default ACT clutches

I hear they are the best, and I went on their website only to see under CRX that is has years '90-'91. No '88 or '89. I have an '89 si. Will the clutches work???

They make the 88 and 89 clutches. They however are different because they are smaller in size compared to the 90-91 clutches. Are you sure you looked through the entire application chart? Oh and by the way ACT clutches are really nice.

yeah I went under CRX and it only had apps. for '90 and '91. i'll look again though.

DAMN, you can chirp 5th The 6 puck was like $370 right? Is it the one that they say, " not recomended for street use"?

Oh and how are the si tranny's? Can they handle the clamping power of a hardcore clutch?

I had a act 6-puck with extreme pressure plate and it made my D16Z6 skirt 4th with just intake and headers with heavy *** 16s. The 6 puck isn't recommended for street but who cares!

Alright cool, I found the '89 clutches but there are also '89 upgrade clutches. What is the difference? is it worth it, becuase it says for the '89 upgrade you need a '90+ flywheel.

Which kit do you guys think is best, I am gonna be hard on it(after break in of course )???

thanks, shea.

If your in need of a flywheel, i have the old one from my 91 CRX in decent shape. -might- need to be resurfaced, but you can have it for free.

hey phatwhippin....how rough is that clutch anyway? i was thinkin about one for when i get my swap, but i drive my car everyday, all day and it's my only car.....is it REALLY rough? instant engagement? i was thinkin about a stage 2 or a stage 3 street disc. what do you think? the b16's gonna be just i/h/e and i want something smooth, but that can HOLD GOOD when i lay on it....got any suggestions? i've never had a performance clutch in any car so i don't know what to compare anything to

Well I have B16a, I/H/E (on the way ) and it is more than enough clutch for that. I bought the 6puck, extreme PP combe because I am going turbo next summer, so I will use the same kit....

It is INSTANT on/off....... and it takes about a week or so to totally get used to it. I LOVE it, no wthat I am used to it, except for when I am stuck in traffic

I'm running an ACT 6puck unsprung with -stock- pressure plate, and i can get it to barely chirp 4th if i shift hard enough. Plus, my clutch is still easy as butter I plan on going with a stronger pressure plate eventually, but just the disk is more than enough for a B16a w/ just boltons from my experiance.

i'm replacing my act right now w/ another act street disk and i also ordered a lightened act flywheel got it cheap like 140$..... paid 260 for the clutch shipped w/ pilot and release bearings..... just the regular act is a big difference from stock my first act was in my first 240sx and i couldn't believe how nice and how much of a difference it makes... can be a little rough in traffic though....

My fiancee is talking about putting one in my CR-X...QUESTION? Is it ok for regular driving or is it better to get something else? I mean it would have to be something good for race and regular driving.
