I have a h22a in my '94 del sol.
Its my frist swap and its taken me a ton of hours and band-aids to finish it. but its done. Ill Have picks up ASAP. But theres one thing i would like to change and thats the ECU. I have a JDM plugged in right now and i need a stock one to pass smog (the ECU came with the set up). But i dont know Exactly what year the motor is. So my qustion is how can i find out what year the motor is and What kind of U.S. Spec ECU i would need. If i sound Like A Rookie its because I AM. im still a learnin.

If anyone could help me out i'd appreciate it.

you could take the serial # off the motor to the dealer they should be able to tell you. or ask who ever you bought it from.

JDM motors do not have that

 

Heres the problem i have. The guy who i bought the motor from is a dork and didnt even know that it was out of a prelude. (lol)
And i went to my Local honda dealer and they told me to give them the serial number also. and i think i gave them a wrong number. The serial number is under where its stamped "H22A" right? or am i also a dork and lookin in the wrong spot.

I went to my local honda dealer and gave them the serial number to the motor and they told me to the motor is a 99 non s/h!!!!

So what exhaust sounds best connectoed to an H22A? I was thinking about a GReddy Evo 2 cuz i dont like the loud exhaust sounds from other companys, i like an all motor sound. Someone suggested a Spoon but i dont want to spend that kind of money on it. So what exhaust should i go with?
