I drive a black on black prelude and it is hot as hell in the summer. Accordingly, I am thinking about getting window tint. 32% is the legal limit in GA. Does any one have that level on their car? Does it help with the sun significantly? Pics?

my tint is 25% and it helps a lot compared to when i didn't have any tint. just make sure to also maximize your results by buying a windshield visor thing too.

 

yea black on black gets sooo hot!!!1 try leaving the sunroof cracked open. but yea i think 32% should be fine. i know someone with 35% and its real good for shade.

my gf has 20% and it works great...it gets hot sittin, buit when you in the car, the sun doesnt beat in on you. we live in ga and hadnt had a problem w/the cops

 

I am a window tinter and i put 20% lumar platinum on my car . 32% will help with the heat, however one of my tint vendors showed me a new kind of tint that blocks out 98% uv rays and heat and it is legal in all states bc it has no shade to it. It is fairly expensive but if you are interested jsut find a dealer for madiko tint.
But 32% will do what i think you are wanting done and a tint stripe on the front will help alot too but make sure to get it a legal length.

 

Sounds good.. You seem to be in the know as far as tint goes, so maybe you can help me a little more. How can I tell whether or not a shop is reputable, will do good work, etc. Any tips? How much would you expect a consumer to pay for 32% on a prelude?

 

This may sound funny, but ask random people with tint on their cars where they got it done. That's what I did and I found a guy who does an AWESOME job. I paid 140 for 5% in the back and 35% in the front. Backing up your car at night with 5% on the back really sucks. And yes it does help ALOT with the sun rays.

you should only expect to pay around 170.00 but prices are different in different areas. but you should make sure they have a good warrenty we have a life time warrenty at our shop. bc if they do mess up you can always take it back and they cannot say anything trust me i know lol. but jsut ask around also.
