Check Engine Light After Header Install
I installed dc jdm headers and carsound cat. My check engine light came on its saying bad cat. has anyone else thrown this code, if so how did you fix it and does it effect performance.

Well, if the bricks are falling out you will hear them rattling around. That's what happened to me.

As far as I know, it will only affect performance if the cel triggers "limp mode" and your rev limiter becomes 6k. Good luck, I'm thinking of doing the same headers myself.
Brand new cat and brand new O2 here, and I still have a code 67. It could just be that the O2 sensor isn't getting hot enough for some reason

hmm code 67... weird cuz if it was the heater i thnik it would be code 1 or something right?

To check the secondary O2 sensor first. Ideally the secondary O2 should be putting out less than 0.45V (lean) and should be holding fairly constant with the car warmed up. If it's on the rich side (more than 0.45V) then it'll definitely trigger the code 67.
Quick check on the cat is you should see a temperature rise between the inlet and outlet. A 100deg celcius rise in temp. indicates it is indeed oxdizing the exhaust. If you have access to a pyrometer or ideally an infared pyrometer it's a fairly easy check.
Code 67 is 2 trip logic, low catalyst efficiency must happen in 2 different key cycles to trip the CEL. The 1 week delay indicates that possibly the cat is weak. Do the temperature check.
What model Carsound did you get?
