93 accord axle/tranny removal
i'm trying to take out the tranny on an h22 in 93 accord, i have the damper fork disconnected and lca disconnected opposite the hub end, this is all the haynes/mitchell say to do to get the axle out however it will only come out half way, i dont need to remove the axle from the hub, i just need to get it out of the tranny/diff., am i missing a bolt or something i need to remove so that i can get the hub to swivel left or right or outwards to get the axle out??? am have i done everything i can and just need to pry harder???
thanks
thanks
So you have the balljoint popped out of the LCA right?
If you have the axle nut off and it's still not moving... try some PB blaster around where they axle nut was... and pound it in a bit with a BFH and it should loosen and come right out...allowing you to swing the hub out of the way....
I recently did the same procedure and on my drivers side I had to do what I said above to get the axle popped out of the hub but on the pass side I used copius amounts of PB blaster beforehand and let it soak in for long while and it slid right out...
My BFH is my favorite tool...
