Is there a differnce between the JDM S1 tranny, vs. the USDM S1 that came on certain intergras? I know that my engine is a JDM b16a, but i dont know if its the same tranny that originaly came on it. now i need to order some synchros and a couple other things for my S1, but i dont know what engine, or what tranny to order the parts for...please help asap....

 

Yup they're different. The JDM S1 is a VTEC tranny where as the USDM version is setup with LS gearing. We've recently had some problems with Will's Rex as he keeps destroying trannies and we can't get parts. Obviously the USDM YS1 stuff won't work but we tried anyways. Now it's time for a complete YS1 or converting to hydro. I'm leaning towards going hydro too, just for the simplicity in getting parts though you can still get them for the YS1. I am in the same boat as you. I need 3-4 syncro kit for the jdm S1 tranny. I heard on another fourm that that is the only synchro parts that is differant. Mainly the synchro sleeve on 3-4. There is a d series synchro that will work. But of course the gears are differant ratio. I am going to contact gear speed about parts. They have carbon coated synchros. http://www.gear-speed.com. They are now selling trannys on ebay. I need to fix mine because it has quaife lsd. Please let me know if anyone hears about a way to aquire parts for this tranny.
