flex additive necessary for paint?

Im about to paint my side skirts and was wondering if this flex additive is really a necessity or not. If you guys have any thoughts their more than welcome.
probably a good idea to use it if you think its gonna be flexing. I never used it on my xenon sideskirts on my si...never cracked on me.
I was at a paint shop the other day getting some paint mixed up into spray cans. They said it's not necessary, especially if it's already on your car. it's mainly good for just mounting the part. Suposedly the flex additive leaves the paint after a few weeks anyway. It's just to keep it from cracking when your installing. That's what I heard at least...

i painted my front lip with the flex paint. the lip is floppy as hell and the paint is holding up fine. i say
