performance rear drum brake pads / shoes?
just wondering if anyone makes aftermarket performance rear drum brake pad / shoes for the crx? specifically the 88 si. thanks
umm... as far as i know.. the si's came with rear discs.. didnt they?? i could be wrong, dont quote me on this, but I thought they did, or were they just on the newer models?
if it does have drums.. have you considered switching to disc brakes in the rear maybe? just a thought

I hear drums are actually lighter than the switching to discs. I've actually heard of using 1st gen drums because they are lighter than 1st gen drums. discs just look better.

yeah the 1st gen HF drum is made out of aluminum and is lighter than the 2nd gen drums and can be used on the 88 si, just finding them is hard and expensive...and you are correct disk weigh more than drums...
I believe Carbotech also offers a higher temp rear shoe for the 88. So far I haven't had any trouble with the OEM shoes fading during competition, but I know people have had good results with other shoes.
awesome. im just worried if i upgrade the front pads, the brake bias will be messed up. so im lookin at options for the rear. plannin on running sts2 woot!

Well the drums generate a very large amount of force, so changing to a performance pad in the front will probably not adversely change your brake bias. The real problems with drums is heat and fade, neither should be much of an issue in shorter autocross runs. The good news is that drums grab pretty well cold, so if you use a colder temp compound up front you should have a great autocross setup.
