1994 Prelude Si ---> R-134a or R-12?
i'm gonna try to recharge my air conditioning system, it doesn't seem to be blowing very cold. anyone use those kits out there? i should be looking for R-134a right?
I'm pretty sure you have R-134, the hose for the R134 refrigerant wont fit on the old R12 system valves so that would be the easiest way to tell....You can however just buy adapter fitting for the R12 system so they work with the new refrigerant(although people say you should have all the old stuff vacuumed out of the system)
It will say right on the system. It is 134a though. I'm not 100% on the ludes but I know in every other vehicle I have seen anything 1994+ is 134a anything 93 and older is R12. You can't even get R12 without a license anymore.
If you want to change a R12 system over to 134a you should have it done professionally. It is a lot more involved than just removing the coolant and adding the 134a.
