Ok Im in a predicament here. I like my 16" Rota Grids with the 215/45/16 Azenis but I think I want a lil bigger rim. Im lookin at the 17" Rota Subzero Gold with a 205/40/17 Toyo Proxes 4. I dont really care about the weight cause my car aint that fast anyways. Will the 17's fit nicely on my ride. I dont want to rub and thats why Im choosin the 205's Please help.
As long as your not dropped lower than 2.25" and stick with the 205/40 you should be fine. My rears rubbed bad when I had 215/40 on (on h & r race) and I had to roll in the wheel well just alittle

I have 17" silver Rota Subzeros and they don't rub at all. I am on Sportlines with about a 1.7" drop all around.

i got 17" RO_JAs wrapped in 205/40/17 T1-s rubber, and i love the way they look when they spin, but i hate them cuz they are heavy as hell (60 lbs. per wheel and tire). As far as rubbing, my front right rubbs when im turning left only! I think you should get some 17s for daily driving, but i would keep some 15s on the side for track days.
i got 17's, konig verdicts to be exact, and i love them, there wrapped with 205-40-17, the only thing i dont like is my cars not lowered yet..
but as we speak, my tein s.techs are commin in to town from the ups truck, and my tokico illumina's are on there way also..
2 inch drop, ill show u a be4 and after pic.. but i cant wait

On some cheapo coilovers drop on dead struts. -=P Front is dropped MAXed! and the rear has about 1" left to drop. Now my struts are completely dead, its worse. My front is tucked in half way in on my tires.. And still lOoking strong!?
NO RUB AT ALL!

You get the point..

all we have is different sidewall heigth's than you.. only for clearance issues..
and if u have a 35/30 sidewall, you can bend ur rim.. well have a better risk of bending the rims..
we use 40 because it gives us just enough sidewall to protect us from bends.. and gives us just enough clearance to not rub on any 2.25 drops or below...
