My header is peeling??
I just bought a dc ceramic header used and it looks as if the coaing is peeling off. The header is in good shape otherwise...no cracks or bends. will this affect performance or is it cosmetic only. Is powdercoating an option? its REAL UGLY!
I had one that i bought new, the paint didnt peel but over time the color kinda faded. I just took it off and spray painted it with silver 1200 degree high temp paint and its fine and looks new.
I sent mine to hpcoatings (same sitename); got it back this past week. I got the black, and it looks beautiful. Plus, they'll coat the inside as well, so you're doing something that might actually help a little with exhaust gasses as well as look damn purdy!
How do u mean...coat the inside? There is a static coater/powdercoater right down the street ill see what he can do.. Is there anyway u could post pics of ur header painted or powdercoated?
i say u just repaire the header urself i just did mine this weekend cuz they were pealing also. i used this aircraft coating remover and it took all the paint right off in like 5min, then i just used some high temp paint and now it looks like i got a brand new header.
i talked to a guy at one of those jet coat places and he said that the header would not disipate(not spelled right) heat properly and ruin my header within a short time. Sounded legit to me, but what do i know right?

You're welcome! I guess the "thanks for posting some info on my thread - I appreciate it" was implied.
You asked questions that are clearly stated on their website. Which is why I directed you to it in the first place. If calling me names for stating the obvious gets you off, have fun with it.

Sorry for the rudeness, but all i wanted was YOURs and others opinions. And yes THANK YOU. the site helped alot. If i may how much did u pay to have ur header done inside and out? Thanks
Oh, sure, now you want information?
Just kidding!
The total cost was $229.75, which included shipping back to me, and coating the inside and outside of both the header and the downpipe.
I'll take some pics, and post 'em on Saturday at the latest - I'm slapping it back on my crx that morning. Sorry for the earlier miscommunication!
