Default which ITR brakes are better? 97 or 98-01?

so to my knowledge the 97 itr and 98-01 itr has same calipers and pads front and rear. 97 and 98-01 rear disc are the same. 98-01 itr has bigger rotor up front.

so which one will stop faster? anyone have some info on the brake specs like caliper piston size? i think the front rotors of a 97 itr are same as GSR's 10.3". and 98+ are like 11.1" how about the rears? 10.3" or something right? most important thing here is the caliper piston size.

thanks if you can help out.

All USDM ITRs have the same size brakes.
JDM 96 were smaller. HTH Ed

97's did have different rear calipers though...but dimensionally they are the same.

98-01 is better because you can bleed your brakes with one wrench instead of two Why put a 10mm up front and a 8 in back?

now i got a new question.

are gsr rear caliper the same as type R caliper? i know the anchor is bigger because the brake pad is bigger. so how about the caliper?

USDM ITR rear calipers are 9CLP14S, and front caliper is 17CL154VN. I guess Zygspeed has also confirmed this.

This is ~11" up front and ~10" rear.

The JDM 97 and lower ITR's used 7CLP13S calipers in the rear, which is the same as the ~86+ USDM Integras.

7CLP13S= 30mm piston, ~9.5" rotor

9CLP14S=34mm piston, ~10" rotor (don't remember exact size)

You ITR guys....how does your ebrake cable mount to the caliper? I know the EP3 uses the same rear caliper 9CLP14S (stamped the same anyway), but the ebrake arm is different from the base Integra.....it's on the bottom instead of the top.

Is this how it is mounted on the ITR as well?

Or did Honda use the same caliper for the EP3 with some slight changes but kept the casting # the same?
